History of the fire department classic car world championship
The fire department Oldtimer WM was created in 2007 by the fire department Bruck and the tourism association Bruck-Fusch. The basic idea of this event was taken over from the
Vintage Tractor World Cup
which was organized for the first time in 2001.
Since the very beginning, the Bruck Fire Department has placed great emphasis on providing a high quality program for the participants of this event. Personal contact with the participants is also a priority at this event. It is very important to the Bruck Fire Department that the participant feels a certain family atmosphere during the event. And this is also what makes the quality of the Fire Brigade Oldtimer World Championship.
In 2013, for the first time, the World Championships were held every two years, which had a very positive effect on the number of participants. Since then, between 70 and 90 vehicles participate in each World Cup. The record number of participants was reached in 2018 with 92 classic cars.
Unfortunately, the World Cup has to be postponed until 2022 due to the corona pandemic and the associated conditions. Due to the “forced break” this year THE fire department spectacle was celebrated not only by die-hard “firefighters“.
