The winter solstice has always been celebrated by a wide variety of cultures. People celebrate the death of the old year and the birth of the new.

In the night from 21. on the December 22 is the longest night of the year and the sun has the lowest position in the sky. After the shortest day of the year, the power of the sun then increases again and the days become longer. A new year begins.

The tourism association BRUCK FUSCH | GROSSGLOCKNER organizes together with the cultural association Tauriska Fusch a torchlight hike on December 21, 2022.
Meeting point is at 20:00 at the Tourist Info Fusch.

The cozy torchlight hike through the snowy Fusch valley is accompanied by atmospheric music and many small highlights.
The final stage takes place in the Isidor-Griessner-Park, where wish branches are thrown into the fire and Perchten drive away all the old burdens.
